 UCLA's Nobel Prize Winners
Introduction
Medical students celebrate Ignarro's Nobel Prize
Medical students celebrate the Nobel Prize awarded to their teacher, Louis Ignarro

Five UCLA faculty members are Nobel Laureates, as are four graduates of UCLA. Click on the names (at left) to see photos and brief profiles of each Laureate.

UCLA's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is particularly proud of its Nobel tradition: three faculty members and two alumni have achieved the Nobel Prize.

Two of UCLA's Nobel Laureates, Ralph Bunche and Paul Boyer, have campus buildings named in their honor.

For information about the history and meaning of the Nobel Prize, see the Nobel Prize web site.
