James L. Easton

Class of 1959

For five decades, James L. Easton has helped athletes of all ages succeed at sports. He served as vice president of the International Olympic Committee and president of the World Archery Federation. His company, Easton Sports, is a top manufacturer of athletic equipment; its iconic aluminum baseball bat came out swinging in 1969. But Easton – an engineering graduate and UCLA Medal recipient – always had his sights set on more than his own success. Another game-changing Bruin, he wants everyone to win. So he targets scholarship, medical research, athletics, management and more at UCLA with his financial contributions and his time. In this way, he helps people in many fields – and on them – score success.
