How can we practice sustainability during a pandemic?
The pandemic has led to a massive increase in the number of single-use masks and gloves, caused stores to ban reusable cups and bags, and increased the use of take-out containers as restaurants closed their dining rooms. How can we continue to help protect our environment when “reusable” becomes synonymous with “infected”? Bonny Bentzin, UCLA’s Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer, shares tips, workarounds and alternatives that teach us how we can still go green and reduce waste, while staying safe during the pandemic.
